Ariel Casimiro
Ariel Casimiro is an Angolan film and commercials director, and one of the most awarded filmmakers in Angola.
He moved to South Africa when he was 7 years old, where he spent 17 years. He studied Film and Television Production at the Tshwane University of Technology where he majored in scriptwriting. He was also lucky enough to have his student films win the best film award at his final 2 years in film school.
After working in commercials for a while for brands such as KFC, MTN, Domino's Pizza, Unilever and many more, in 2018 he decided to come back to Angola to form his own production company called Usovoli Cinema. He came back to Angola with the focus on producing fictional content that makes Africa cool again.
He has been lucky in the past 4 years to win 12 awards in Nigeria, Mozambique, Mexico, Angola, as well as play in film festivals all over the world. He has also been honoured in 2022 to be part of Durban talents with he's new series The School of Life.
He aims to have Angolan filmmakers and actors make a living producing fictional content and make great strides in the commercial world.
